Join us the evening of Thursday, June 22 as Flannel Foxes launches their new Spring/Summer line The Foxes of Summer! To top it off, we'll be joined by musical guests North of Here for an evening of great music, great merch, and great food.

4:00pm Backyard BBQ

5:00pm Flannel Foxes Pop Up

7:00pm Let the music begin!

All ages welcome, no ticket purchase necessary!

Flannel Foxes is a nostalgic brand inspired by life in the Canadian West. They were all born in the west provinces and grew up camping and exploring what British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan have to offer. Flannel Foxes has the essentials to keep you tomboys and boys looking great on your Western Canadian adventures or wherever your next adventure takes you. They believe that West Canada is Best Canada and want to share that with all of you, no matter where you live!

Calling Edmonton, AB home, North of Here is an Americana/folk group made up of Luke Jansen (vocals, banjo, bass), Ian St. Arnaud (vocals, mandolin), and Will Holowaychuk (vocals, percussion). The band came together through a high school music class friendship that grew into a full-time project. There is both history and new life in North of Here’s folk sound. Shaped by their grandparents’ worn-out Gordon Lightfoot and Leonard Cohen records, they also cite contemporaries such as The Barr Brothers and The Milk Carton Kids as influences on their songwriting. Hidden behind the sunny disposition of acoustic guitar, banjo, and mandolin, are lyrics with weight and self-reflective depth.

Little Brick Home Show: An Evening with Post Script and Okay Mann

  • Little Brick Café & General Store (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Little Brick is proud to welcome back Edmonton-based trio Post Script for their second Home Show. Enjoy music from the indie-folk group, as well as special guest Okay Mann from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Post Script is a relationship, a constant exchange. Considered to be one of Edmonton’s hidden gem bands (CBC.ca), the distinct flavour of Post Script is coming out of hiding and steadily finding an audience. Their debut album, "If Not For You" embodies the traditional Canadian oscillation between urban living and rural retreat, while also capturing the spirit of the nation’s linguistic divide. Post Script are young, charming musicians, writing and performing songs like old souls for modern times.

5'11", 130 lbs, and eyes like his father; meet Katlin Mathison - otherwise known as Okay Mann.

Katlin upholds the indie folk tradition of the rolling stone. 4 years of session work, relentless travel, and a mentorship with Paul McCartney, and a gold single in Norway have eventually led him back to the harsh winters of Manitoba, Canada. A year later, Katlin is ready to hit the road again. Armed with a new monicker and a suitcase of songs born of a Winnipeg winter, Mathison is heading back to the cobblestone streets of Liverpool, UK to record his debut release. Listen for honest music that worships the hook, but keeps thoughtful lyrics front and centre. Melodies that remind you of The Tallest Man on Earth and James Bay, but never quite in a way that you'd expect.

His is the story of a nomad held down by heartbreak and circumstance. It's been a tough year, but he's Okay Mann.

Join us for Jazz!

If you couldn't snag tickets for the Winter Festival Dinner, fear not! We still have a handful of tickets available for the jazz show with award-winning local musician Jerrold Dubyk.

JERROLD DUBYK

After many years playing, teaching and composing jazz, Jerrold Dubyk's greatest passion remains sharing music with others. Celebrated efforts include a Western Canadian Music Award for ‘Best Jazz Recording’ in 2009 with another nomination in 2014. Early 2017 will see the release of his fifth record as well as the debut of his Jazz Orchestra in April 2017 featuring his original music orchestrated by local and international Grammy Award winning arrangers. Dubyk's work in the Edmonton music scene also earned him a spot in Avenue Magazine's Top 40 Under 40 in 2012.

Accompanying Dubyk at Little Brick’s Winter Festival are his band mates Doug Organ (piano) and Arethaa Dangerfield (acoustic bass). Together, they share a collective ambition to explore the friendships that develop when good and humble people put the needs of others first. In essence, it’s about musical family and what we all bring to the room.

Tyler Butler

"Edmonton, Alberta native Tyler Butler is known for his prairie musings and prolific stream of early EP’s. Butler started writing songs at an early age but his musical style was developed when he picked up an acoustic guitar at age 18.  Butler graduated from the University of Alberta as an English major, which has further influenced his songwriting by allowing him to weave his knowledge of Canadian folklore and colonial literature into his songs. " -Yer Bird Records

Cayley Thomas

" Cayley Thomas is an active Alberta artist well respected in the community for her determination and generosity of spirit. With a background in both theatre and classical music, Thomas now embraces the world of the singer songwriter. In 2013 she released a five-song EP 'Ash Mountains,' written after the loss of her brother Alex Thomas-Haug. Little Brick Home Show: Old Towns & Luke Thomson

April 3, 2016

LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE

Tickets: $20

Old Towns

"Old Towns is the moniker of singer-songwriter, Robbie Shirriff. Blending the raw energy and driving force of punk, with the simplistic beauty of folk, Shirriff’s love songs will have you stomping along, and his drinking songs will make your heart smile. In addition to playing this year’s Pouzza Fest in Montreal, he has been featured in Dying Scene, Bucketlist Reviews, and Punknews who place him to the tradition of such acts as Chuck Ragan, Joey Cape, and Andrew Jackson Jihad. Raised in Saskatoon, SK, Shirriff has three releases to date, including 2014’s Leaving Songs and 2015’s The Northey Sessions. He has a forthcoming split EP with Vancouver musician, Bryan Michael and plans for a full-length release in the future. At just 23 years old, his talent as a singer is magnetic, and perfectly accompanied by the warm, robust chords of his acoustic guitar, his harmonica, and his boots on the floor. If folk is said to be '3 chords and the truth', then Old Towns is that with a nosebleed and a three-dollar pint." -Cole Mash; Author/Reviewer

Luke Thomson

"This strapping guitar player cut his teeth in Calgary Alberta, bringing his finger lickin' pickin' to the poetic punk rock outfit THE RUMBLE, while at the same time releasing his own sad bastard ballads with a band of buds called THE HOWL. His powerful voice and big swing/big miss guitar work makes for some fun rock and roll, keeping the music tough and the lyrics tender.”
